Customizable Professional Development Opportunities

Literacy in CTE. This class will tie literacy and CTE together. The focus of the course will be on literacy strategies to use in each CTE class. Teachers will receive many hands-on activities to use in the classroom.
Recommended Grade Level: 7-12 Recommended Time: Two, 2-hour sessions

Math in CTE. This class will focus on how to use math in each CTE curriculum. Math is present in every class, this is a good way to collaborate with math teachers in your building to strengthen both classes.
Recommended Grade Level: 7-12 Recommended Time: Two, 2-hour sessions

Science in CTE. This class will focus on how to use science in your CTE classroom. Core standards from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Systems will be used, and show how to correspond them to the CTE standards.
Recommended Grade Level: 7-12 Recommended Time: Two, 2-hour sessions

Pacing Guides and How to Use Them. This class will focus on how to build pacing guides, why they are important, and how to use them every day while teaching.
Recommended Grade Level: 7-12 Recommended Time: Two, 2-hour sessions + ongoing sessions as curriculum arises

New Tech and Engineering Curriculum and How To Get the Most Out of It. This class will show how to use the new Tech and Engineering core standards and how to create activities within each unit.
Recommended Grade Level: 7-12 Recommended Time: Introduction and then ongoing follow-up

Study Guides for Your Students. Why keep the curriculum a secret?? This will show teachers how to create study guides for their students that tie to the standards, how to use them as starters, and questions that will help students study.
Recommended Grade Level: 7-12 Recommended Time: Two, 2-hour sessions

Why Teach Soft Skills. Employers want the very best candidates for the job. Students need to know how to be the best candidate. Soft skills are useful for their everyday life as well as their professional life. This class will help you teach soft skills in your class and why to teach them.
