6th, 7th, and 8th Grade 3-D Science:  Teaching the New Science with Engineering Education (SEEd) Standards. This course is a series of four full days of instruction. Activities and instruction will provide teachers with tools and information needed to understand and implement the new SEEd Standards and the 3-D pedagogy of teaching science. Credits available and substitutes paid.
Recommended Grade Level: 6-8 Recommended Time: Three 6-Hour Sessions

6th, 7th, and 8th Grade 3-D Science:  Teaching the New Science with Engineering Education (SEEd) Standards Focus Groups. These focus groups are held in conjunction with the four full days of 3-D Science course. Teachers participating in the focus groups will elaborate on strategies learned in the full-day courses while collaborating to create and adapt learning activities that incorporate the new three dimensional approach to teaching science. Lessons and activities will be shared with others in the district and throughout the state via the district science website.
Recommended Grade Level: 6-8 Recommended Time: Four 2-Hour Sessions

Book Study: “A Vision and Plan for Science Teaching and Learning." “A Vision and Plan for Science Teaching and Learning” is an educator’s guide to understanding and implementing the new Science with Engineering Education Standards. Current science education is translated from theory into classroom instruction and establishes the fundamentals for learning science in a simple, straightforward approach that teachers can successfully implement.
Recommended Grade Level: K-12 Recommended Time: 4-8 Hours

Setting Up Your STEM Fair. Workshop will provide information on implementation of STEM Fairs in secondary schools.
Recommended Grade Level: 7-12 Recommended Time: 4 Hours

Science Literacy. Workshop will provide strategies to aid in comprehension of difficult text. Specific activities will help teachers learn what obstacles students face and how to overcome them as effective informational text is used in the classroom.
Recommended Grade Level: K-12 Recommended Time: 2-4 Hours

Individual Teacher Mentoring. Observations, consultations, and coaching of teachers on an individual basis.
Recommended Grade Level: K-12 Recommended Time: As Needed

Teacher Focus Groups. Teachers meet together and share lesson ideas, sharing implementation strategies. Lesson plans are formatted and uploaded to the district website for all teacher reference and use.
