Full course description
For anyone who likes to read fiction and non-fiction for Middle School and High School.
Do you like reading books for tweens and teens? Join us for our yearly look at the state of children's literature and read brand-new books. We get together each week and hear from each other about new YA books, we discuss the state of and controversies in YA and children's publishing, and our fearless leader gives us short reviews on even MORE YA and children's books published the last year (sometimes even picture books).
This is an in-person class - no credit will given for students who do not attend at least 7 in-person classes.
Place: South Jordan Middle School
Time: 4:30 - 6:30
Dates: Wednesdays: March 4,11,18,25, April 15, 22, 29, May 6 (optional class share night)
For Credit:
1. Attend 7 classes in person
2. Read two books of your choice from books provided by Cindy:
a. In-person presentation about each book
b. handout for class about each book
c. write a review for each book (will be published)
3. Read each assigned class article and participate in class discussion
